In addition to the above, the project aims to resettle girls who have no homes or who are living in abusive or inappropriate home situations back into their families or with relatives, or, if that is not possible, to find foster/adoptive parents or put them into long-term residential care.
The ultimate goal is that all children will have a safe, loving home where they can grow up with appropriate care.
Share Mama Mary's experience

Mama Mary’s daughter, Lisa, is part of the Bambejja Family Support and Resettlement project, a project run by Oasis Uganda. She is a single mother of six children and they live in a single roomed mud house in the neighbouring slum community. Her husband deserted her when Lisa was still a baby and has been struggling to raise her children single handedly. This is what she says;
“I had little hope for the future and I was very sick. However life changed for me through the Craft training that was organized by Bambejja in July 2006. I leant how to weave baskets and I managed to get alternative markets from interested individuals and from Mulago Infectious Disease Institute. I can now make and sell at least 8 baskets per week at 2500/= or even 3000/= for each basket. I use the income raised to pay house rent which is 15,000/= per month, pay part of the other children’s school fees, buy our food and I have saved 42,500/=so far with Savings scheme. I am now living positively and believe that I can face the future if I work hard and apply whatever skills come my way. I thank Oasis Bambejja for supporting not only Lisa but equipping me with such skills to improve our lives”
